For me, steak is THE treat.
Special occasion? Steakhouse! Big celebration? Steakhouse!
So anytime I can bring the steakhouse home, I’m game. (no pun intended).
My girlfriend found this recipe…and it’s the bomb.
Here’s the simpler version:
Ingredients:
- 1 London Broil Steak (about 2 pounds) at least 2-inches thick
- 4 Tbsp. of salted butter- divided
- 1 Tbsp. garlic powder
- 1 Tbsp. of black pepper or fresh cracked pepper
- salt, to taste
Prep: Place the meat onto a dish and allow it to warm up to room temperature.
This takes 30 minutes to 1 hour.
- Heat grill for about 10 minutes. Make it extremely hot (~600 degrees)
- Lightly sprinkle both sides of the steak with salt
- Place the meat onto the grill on its first side. Close the lid.
- Cook ~4 minutes
- Open the lid and flip it over
- Leave the lid open
- Add garlic powder and black pepper generously on top
Place 2 tablespoons of butter on top of the meat - Cook ~4 minutes
- Flip over the meat again to the other side
- Add garlic powder and black pepper generously on top
Place 2 tablespoons of butter on top of the meat - Cook ~4 minutes
Let it sit for ~5 minutes before slicing
